21:30 Amal Murkus invites the GLOMUS ensemble with her on stage
Amal Murkus
We set the tone with the renowned Palestinian singer and actress Amal Murkus. Together with the Aarhus-based oud player Maher Mahmoud and the American Wanees Zarour, she will take us through the classical Arab musical traditions.
Voice and Oud
After this, Bilal Irshed and Bakri Hemmami take over the stage. Together, the two make the duo Voice and Oud, which reinterprets traditional Arabic music through vocals and the stringed instrument the oud. With backgrounds in Palestine and Syria, they present the proud, classical Arab tradition, while putting it in touch with new contexts and sounds that highlight the music's narrative and image-creating ability. In this way, the duo tells wonderful stories through the tones of the oud and the mwashahat singing, which makes poetry and music merge and become a completely new artistic expression.
Dance and music - GLOMUS Participants
At the end of the evening, the talented participants from GLOMUS Camp will play and maybe even start up the dance floor. We offer fair bar prices for everything from soda and beer to a hot glass of Turkish tea, and we invite everyone to take part in the good atmosphere!
