Since the very beginning back in Aarhus Festuge 2010, det turkise telt has always worked to present more curious and diverse music on the local Arhus scene. CURIOSITY

Musical and cultural experiences are meant to give food for thought and cultivate curiosity in our society. Only if we are curious of each other, and all that we do not yet know, we can move closer to a shared society capable of including everyone. Contemporary arts and roots-music are excellent ways of communicating the possibilities of curiosity and it deserves a serious scene and a wide audience.

INVITATION & INCLUSION

Curiosity that is not meet fades away. However, if we succeed in inviting each other into the spaces, where we are different, the potential of a diverse community grows. We need to include each other and realize the potential of new hybrids. When we actively reach for the positive dynamic of our differences, more doors will open, than will close.

DIVERSITY

Our modern world is constantly created and re-created by an amazing number of human connections across borders, traditions and lives. This also includes Aarhus and Denmark. That is why we need the representation of minorities and new groups throughout our cultural scene – from musicians to audiences, organizers and volunteers. det turkise telt works to strengthen the diversity of the industry.

DRIVE FOR DEVELOPMENT

If we are not ready to develop and rebuild ourselves when we meet new ideas in the unknown, we will never be able to build new bridges. At the same time, it is important that our drive for development compels us to look inwards and support ourselves in experimenting and taking new chances. This is how we strive to stay relevant and how we manage to walk new ways for ourselves and for others.

ARTISTIC QUALITY

The amount of moving and uplifting roots-music in the world around us is only surpassed by the potential for strong firsthand experiences when this music is framed in exactly the right way. When it flows from the stages out into a present and curious room full of open eyes, ears and minds. We believe in the changemaking abilities of arts and music, and have dedicated our scene to acts and artists with the quality to support this belief.

VOLUNTEERING

det turkise telt has volunteering as a core values both philosophically and practically, and that is something we are really proud of. We are happy to be an organization where passion and community are essential building blocks. Only when we act together we are able to succeed. Volunteering is a one of a kind-ressource and something we should cherish and protect – also as a society. In det turkise telt, we do that every time we host an event.
