New minimalistic folk duo gives new life to Danish dance rhythms on cello and accordion.
Made up of Aarøe Freesen (cello) and Anders Ringgard Anders (accordion) the duo Barani, is well versed in Danish and Nordic folk music through years of activity in groups such as Basco, Vessilli, Habadekuk and Grønt Lys. Together, they dive into old dance rhythms engaging with them from new perspectives through their simple, yet nuanced sound. Flowing between the cello and accordion, Barani create warm vibrations, quirky melodies and beautiful connections across the Danish folk music history.
