MORE MUSIC, MORE STAGES

Det turkise telt strives to explore new possibilities for Roots&Hybrid music in Denmark. With more than 11 years of experience as a successful and popular festival- and concert organiser, we will this year be launching a new mobile concert initiative. The goal is to position modern folk music in experimental and cross-artistic/cross-cultural frameworks. As a part of this initiative, we are establishing the organisation’s first curation group, with a special focus on innovating, challenging and qualifying the musical space.

ABOUT THE CURATION GROUP

As a member of our curation group, you will be a part of a cross-artistic group with other musically and culturally engaged people. In unison you will challenge and develop the way we think, communicate and orchestrate live music. The curator group will consist of 6 people, whose tasks are to assemble 10 concerts annually, where each concert should present a new act in a new venue (the concerts will vary in size, from intimate events for 60 guests to larger productions with 300 guests).

The group’s tasks are three-fold, consisting of: two booking-workshops annually, one annual seminar, and active concert participation at least two rounds per member. The workload will include preparation and presence for the two dreamshops and the seminar, plus some process designing and preparation, a month prior to each concert production.

You get:

  • A 5,000 DKK payment

  • Resources to experiment and try new ideas and methods

  • A community and space to dive into some of the current cultural debates

  • Ideal possibilities to further develop your skills as a curator, generate ideas and execute these in the creative cultural life

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for people who are:

  • interested in music and live experiences in general, preferably who resonate with our Roots&Hybrid profile.

  • team-minded and focused on community-based work, while also capable of challenging structural habits and pushing forward new ideas.

  • confident in executing the Dreamshop’s visions and ideas in concrete events, and want to be a part of the team creating the physical spaces for the concerts.

Additionally, it is a bonus if you

  • have an established network in the culture industry and already actively work cross-artistically.

  • are conscious about structural and culturally political themes, associated with the music and culture scene, although, it is not a requirement that you are active in the ongoing cultural debates.

We encourage people to apply, who have their core competencies in the musical world, as well as people who work within other artistic fields on a daily basis.

The majority of the curation group members will be appointed by det turkise telts daily management. We are expecting to find 1 to 2 members through this Open Call.
